Another Holiday Gone By

Well, this weekend was Labor Day weekend and most people were soaking up the rays on the lake or spending time with thier families. I ended up picking up my $650 suburban on Saturday and imidiately pulled the transfer case out as I knew it was bad. Come to find out, the rear brakes were crap too, so I had to take them apart just to make the vehicle move. It won't cost too much to replace these and I probably would have done it anyway as piece of mind since I will be doing a lot of towing with it. Overall, I'm very satisfied with my suburban and can't wait to get the new transfer case so I can see how it drives. It will be nice having overdrive, ac, cruise and 4-wheel drive.

I didn't make it out to the lake this weekend because all of my friends ditched me or had something else to do. Hell, none of them would even return my calls. I had the big idea to go out Sunday afternoon, spend time on the lake, then camp for the night, and spend more time on the lake Monday. Apparently no one else felt the same way about this as I did and it never happened. Needless to say, I was royaly pissed and was pretty depressed today. I didn't feel like doing much and really didn't accomplish much. Other than family, if you can't depend on your friends, who can you depend on?

Progress on my house is going slow, but is coming along. I'm getting to the point where I'm tired of having so many lingering projects and need to just continually jump on them to get something done. Lately, I haven't had much motivation, but I'm going to force myself to get something done everyday. I need to!!!!!

I forgot to mention in my last post that I got a dog. She is a black lab and her name is Cowley. I named her after the juco that I went to for my first two years because it meant so much to me. She is crazy and chews on everything, but I still love her.
